Coaching for running is an essential part of training for all skill levels. Whether for recreational purposes or race distances ranging from a 5k to 26.2 mile marathon, proper motivation and instruction will build the foundation for a consistent training schedule towards attaining set goals. Not everyone is built to train the same, so an appropriate and specific progression in training based on your abilities and goals is needed to prevent injuries, overtraining, and staleness. Proper coaching will directly result in the Enthusiasm, Focus, Dedication, and Drive to take your passion for running and fitness to new levels.
Joel Moceri, a certified personal trainer, will be conducting the running coach program design through Spring Valley Athletic Club. He will set up an effective week by week program leading up to race day or just for recreational purposes incorporating all phases of running. Tips on functional strength training and nutrition will also be distributed throughout your program. Joel will be available for meetings or phone and email correspondence at anytime throughout your training program.
Joel's running experience spans 15 years competing at the high school, collegiate, and post-collegiate levels. He currently is the boy's and girl's assistant cross country coach at Wyomissing HS.
